Here's a place to post thoughts for stuff we want to show up in the RP, so we don't trip over each other's narratives.

Got an idea for the sort of supernatural background your char has?

Looking through that link I set:

Vampires seem quite common.
The firefly one (Adze) stuck with me, as particularly creepy.
I was also entertained by the ones (Obayifo) that possess people, and can be detected at night by a glow from their armpits and anus!
Hopefully whatever magic our chars have will suffice to expel or repel these kinds of spirits.

I also liked the Rompo, though it doesn't strike me as antagonistic (it just eats corpses). Maybe we can get a friend. <3

The Eloko are also fascinating as a potential threat. I like their bizarre description. I could see one of those being pretty formidable to face off with.

Oh my god I would love to see a vampire lord, controlling am army of zombies they have to fight/run away from.

I don't know if I have a say, but I would LOVE that!!!

Heheh, that sounds like fun to me.
Esp if it was the glowing-possessed people making up the horde. All with armpits and anuses glowing. *laughs*

It'd be interesting if one of them ended up getting the Lightning Bird as a pet when changed.

Ooh, that would be cool. Lightning bird as a familiar for one of them, and then a rompo that follows them around because it likes to munch any corpses left in their wake.... ^^;;;

Whoa. Rather overwhelmed with this, to be honest. I don't even know what to do with any of this. Sorry I'm so terrible at all this.

You're not terrible at it. You're doing just fine. (Notice how much I have not done with this recently? If you're failing, so am I, so no worries.)

If you want Cat and I can just start throwing things at our characters. Like glowing-anus zombies, apparently. It'll be fun.

One thing I was curious about was if you wanted 'Ferre to have followed Enjolras when he fell to earth. Because if so, I will definitely have Fey be an angel-thing as well (can't go breaking up the central trio!), but if not I might try to get more creative. ("Try" being the operative word...)

I don't really know all of what I'm doing either. I just pulled up wiki and picked some interesting sounding creatures.
(I don't even think they're from the right part of Africa, I just searched "African mythology creatures".)

If you don't wanna dig into mythology research, then don't worry about it. Just tell us your opinions on whatever crazy ideas we post up here. Or if you get a sudden bout of inspiration, let us know what you've thought of. ^.^

At the moment, it sounds like we might get attacked by vampire zombie things.
And pick up some supernatural pets. :p

A suggestion, feel free to take or discard:
If you'd rather not come up with something big and complicated for Ferre's backstory, you could slip Ferre in pretty easily into the whole "angel" story that E and R outlined in their adventure.
Ferre would be one of the angels/spirits/what-have-you that followed Angel!Enjolras down to the human world, and has stuck by his side ever since.
As far as theme or power, I'd imagine his essence would have to do with civilization and learning/enlightenment. That would be the heart and core of his being, and he's had many lives as a human since. But he still tends to serve that same function, even as a human.

Crazy ideas time! Wheeeeee!

Okay, did some digging for what Bahorel could have been.

I'm a bit tempted by a figure from Welsh mythology. Or, at least, my own version of said figure.
He goes by Gywn ap Nudd/Arawn (And he may be just the Welsh version of a much broader archetype... buuutttt I'm just going to pull from what versions catch my fancy.)

Basically he's a warrior and pyschopomp (ferries the souls of the dead to the underworld), and is the Celtic ruler of the underworld.

I liked these quotes describing him "the hope of armies" and "hero of hosts" , and when asked from which region he comes, he simply replies: "I come from battle and conflict."

Also, there's a tale of Arawn where he switches places with a mortal for a year, and the two become best friends.

There's a fun note of playful comraderie in there I'd like to use, as well as the emphasis on fighting (and fighting juxtaposed with words like "hope").
I'm not sure what I want to do with the whole 'ruler of the underworld' thing. Unless he lead them for a time, and then wandered off. Maybe he put things in order down there, and then left to follow Enjolras. :p
And with the "psychopomp" role. I had this crazy thought, where, what if Bahorel dies first in every life. And his "psychopomp" attribute lets him stick around as a spirit and guide the others' souls once they die. It's part of why they all end up together again each time.

The other cool bit is that he is one of potential leaders of the Wild Hunt.
It's a folkloric, reoccurring event where he rides in a hunt along with the "hellhound"-type spirits, and corrals some other kind of spirits. Possibly chasing the wandering dead souls back where they belong. Who knows, there're loads of versions of it. Seriously, it's spread throughout Europe. And each place has it's own story explaining it and what it means.
I'll have to actually do a bit more reading on it before I decide what/if I want to do with the Wild Hunt.

It also flows rather well with the whole Grantaire-Bahorel as friends/underworld buddies since both creatures apparently dwell within the underworld as it were.

It also gives an excellent reason as to why Bahorel dies first. Not to mention gives him a proper rhyme/reason for after he dies that still focuses on his connection with the others. I really like this!
