Africa?

So, let's talk about going to Africa.

Specifically -- let's discuss WHO is going and what's going to happen. I'd like to see input from everyone who wants their character to go to Africa and chase after Enjolras and Grantaire.

Or, alternatively, discuss WHETHER Les Amis should actually go through with it.

Because I think this is going to be a huge timeline to RP through and it's not something we should just wing as we go.

Plus, I think TC + Vee have some thoughts on how they want their storyline in Africa to go that may not mesh with Les Amis showing up, so getting all our stories to work together would be AWESOME.

Okie dokie..

I keep having this weird mental image of Les Amis showing up to Africa drunk off their faces.

So here's what I shall say regarding the facts: Ferre and co. can find Enjolras and Grantaire's trail fairly easily enough. They're able to calculate where the tail of the plane may have landed and Enjolras has been marking trees. Though the course may well diverge a bit since their trip up the stream and the tribe.

So if you've been reading along with their waaaaacky (and life-threatening) adventures, you pretty much know what to expect.

If they come to Africa, weird shit will happen. I've been taking everything that's been happening to E & R directly from African mythology. And if you've been reading the threads, you'll likely have a good idea just WHY weird shit has been happening.

As for what occurs to your character, that's up to you. They can contend with real threats such as malaria, cannibals, missionaries, etc. And/or they can contend with supernatural problems. If it makes it easier to rp, they can always split up and either rp thread out what happens to the character or summarize it up in their journal or just as a summarization of an rp.

Personally? I wouldn't mind it if anyone came to Africa. I like the idea of E&R being found by their kin.

As far as plans and such go for E&R, it'll be a long while before they're found, but that considering how slow rps and such can go, that's not a big thing.

Bahorel is most definitely down for African adventures.

As his writer is a mythology fan, I'd get a big kick out of him contending with supernatural troubles. (Though I must confess, I have a lot of catch up reading to do on E and R's tribulations.)

I'd be fine with RPing with any arrangement. Either as a group, as a pair (if we split up), or on my own. Although Bahorel would definitely get into some hot water without anyone else there to check his impulses. (To be fair, he's probably going to make trouble for whoever is stuck adventuring with him, as well. :p)

From a practical standpoint, pairs or alone might be easier. Or, if we do a larger group, we should set down an order in which people will post.

My one request is that you allow me to make the first post for whichever RP thread Bahorel is in. That way I can title it "Punching Africa". :3

I am now convinced that no one reads these except poor Ancslove!

If you're referring to the Africa adventures, Estel has read almost all of it.
I'm the one who's been tardy. ^^;

Yay! Another reader!

Couldn't really blame you. Lots of paragraphs and all that and they tend to go on for awhile.

I've been reading and enjoying them! I'm a bit behind (because that's the story of my life) but they've been really interesting. I love anything with Les Amis and the supernatural, though.

Same! They just sort of lend themselves to that genre.

Eponine will most likely, and reluctantly remain at home to take care of Gavroche and Azelma, because someone's gotta do it.

Her RPer, however, will be stalking threads to see what goes down.

I said everything I wanted to in the livestream. Just let me know the outcome.

I'd very much be all for them actually going to Africa and having adventures there. I know it would be a huge undertaking, but I also think it would be tons of fun. We could always just do one or two adventures actually played through, and then finding the others (since it sounds like Vee's cool with us finding Enjolras and Grantaire; I must have missed the livestream or not been paying attention when TC gave her views, and if she doesn't want to have Les Amis find them that's cool). Anything else we want to have happened we can hammer out in this community and then just have the characters write their own take on it. Or we could even just toss ideas back and forth here and then have our characters do a summary of events at the end of the day.

There is also the possibility of having multiple threads running at once. So if we're being really slow with our adventures and E&R need to come home we can always just jump to that and have the happy reunion.

So, overall, Courfeyrac would like to assist in punching Africa, at least a little bit. I'm game for any way that people want to do it, and certainly if TC or Vee want to veto any of our plans that's fine too. This started as their adventure, after all.

Don't worry about the livestream. You weren't in that one and such. Basically, TC and I made plans before about Yuri coming in and saving them. Mainly because we were the only active ones really in the rp. And then the rp got active! And totally awesome!

And that tends to be a big thing about unplanned rps. Sometimes they'll take off. And I'm in no way wishing to stomp on anyone's ideas or pretendy happy fun times. Hell, I'm just happy when more people are involved.

I would love to see more happen, especially since the shit is about to hit the fan with E&R.

I see that things are happening! Dramatic things.

I'm having tons of fun with the RP. It's sometimes hard to find time to do as much as I'd like, but it's great to just be able to fiddle with the characters.

It's why we're really laid-back here. I think it'd be impossible to wrangle everyone into some sort of 'you must post X amount of times to be a part of this rp!' when we're not, like, all in high school or what have you. To each their own for times.

Courfeyrac's going to be trying very hard to keep anyone else from getting into too much mortal peril. He will be prepared to save Combeferre should rock collecting prove to be a very dangerous habit to cultivate.

The others may, in return, need to save Courfeyrac from any supernatural entities that are terribly pretty, terribly sad, or an unfair combination of the two.

And others may have to save Bahorel from breaking or punching various objects and/or people. ^^;
Given what's going down with the messages from Enjolras and Eddie, I'm thinking that could lead to some pretty bad consequences.
