Rescue Team Planning Thread

Calling all Africa rescue team members!

Here's a place to post thoughts for stuff we want to show up in the RP, so we don't trip over each other's narratives.

Going to Africa - Departure Warning

Hey fellow adventures:

I just wanted to remind you that I did create an RP thread in the lesamisdodw community for our rescue mission.

So far I've only gotten a response from Courfeyrac. If you're busy, no biggie. But I think Courfeyrac and I are going to start progressing the RP, so I wanted to point it out to you all if you still wanted to join in.

Enjolras took note of their opponents, calibrating their positions, and going over a quick inventory of what they had.

"Here's what we're going to do," he mouthed to Grantaire within the other tree. "You're going to use one of your bombs to blow up the pack. I'm going to pick off the snipers. You'll need to keep an eye on the group since the bombs likely won't be enough to finish them. Judging by the air speed and how quickly smoke will clear up, you have a sixty percent chance of being able to see better if you squint. You can aim for anything that moves down there. In the meantime, I'll focus on the side groups. I might have a flare in here that we can use, and if it comes to that-"

"Okay, enough of this!" Grantaire picked up his uzi. "Sebaaaaaaastiaaaan GRAAAAAAAAAAANTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIRE!"

With that, he started shooting aimlessly while howling at the top of his lungs. "Think you can take me?? THINK YOU CAN MESS WITH THE HELLBEAST?!"

The men exploded into chaos. The bombs fell out of Grantaire's pocket, blowing up the ground, the group, and the two trees Enjolras and Grantaire had been sitting in. The men scattered and started shooting everything in sight, including one another.

When the dust cleared, all the people involved were on the ground.

"Great, Grantaire. Now we're dead. Way to go."

"Oh well. Least I've got chicken."

Details for the rescue mission

I wanted to hammer out a few specifics. :)

1. Who
Who all is going? So far we've got Bahorel, Courfeyrac, Combeferre, and Jehan. Anyone else? (I don't know what Bossuet was planning on.)

2. Turn Order
It sounded like people would prefer a big group RP, to all get to interact and try to keep each other out of trouble. Sounds like fun!
We should set down an order to our posts, so we can all take turns and things won't get too messy.
Since I'm setting it up, Bahorel will start. After that, I'm not sure the order matters?
Maybe: Bahorel, Jehan, Combeferre, Courfeyrac? If anyone has a particular reason they would like to post before or after a particular character, speak up.

3. E and R, and the Meet Up
My final question is: Should E and R have turns in this RP as well? (Either showing us what's happening to them as we search, or adding them in once we find them...) Otherwise, we could switch to a new RP thread once we've met up.

Africa?

So, let's talk about going to Africa.

Specifically -- let's discuss WHO is going and what's going to happen. I'd like to see input from everyone who wants their character to go to Africa and chase after Enjolras and Grantaire.

Or, alternatively, discuss WHETHER Les Amis should actually go through with it.

Because I think this is going to be a huge timeline to RP through and it's not something we should just wing as we go.

Plus, I think TC + Vee have some thoughts on how they want their storyline in Africa to go that may not mesh with Les Amis showing up, so getting all our stories to work together would be AWESOME.

Figured I may as well baptize this community.

And then realized that I had no idea what to say. So I shall leave this first post open to anyone who has any questions at all concerning the rp. I can understand it if you don't wanna dig back all those entries to find the information you're looking for, so feel free to post whatever you want answers to here!

As for info that you'd want to know, lemme see.

This is a pretty laid-back rp. No big time commitments, post whenever you like, and when/if you're needed, there's normally a poke either over IM or on our regular accounts.

We use third person for actual rp threads. First person for posting in our journals.

As for RPs between others, there are two ways you could do it. The first is via regular rp threads in which each character alternates posts. For an example, see the Enjolras-Grantaire rp in Africa.

Then there is the dumping of information. Due to RL issues or time restraints, the people who are doing the rp can choose to state what happened between them instead of rping it all out. So it'd look like a summary of events in one post. Typically, most prefer the rp threads since you never know wtf can happen, but it's up to you!
